Seed SLIK™ Blend
Product Description
Seed SLIK™ Blend seed flow powder, is an environmentally safe, natural mineral blend of graphite and talc that will not hurt seeds, or plantings as they grow. This unique talc/graphite blend (80/20) is commonly used in many new mechanical plate and vacuum planters for increased lubricity and wear protection. It has been designed to improve the lubricity that is sometimes lost with some talc powders. It also will aid in reducing particle agglomeration that is common with using a 100% talc powder in higher humidity environments. Small seeds benefit from the addition of a powdered lubricant by allowing them to slide easily off the planter plates.

Preparation
Apply in well-ventilated area. Application may cause the powder to become airborne. It is recommended that a dust particulate mask be used when using this product.
Apply in layers as seeds are being added to planter. The recommended application rate for Seed SLIK™ Blend is, Small Seeds: ¾ cup per bag (70-80,000 seeds), Large Seeds: 50# per 65,000 seeds. Apply seed flow in a layer pattern (seed-talc-seed) for optimal powder distribution.
Lubricate new seed meters. Apply a light dusting of talc to the bottom of the seed bin prior to adding seeds to properly lubricate meters, especially new ones.
Repeat as necessary. When refilling the bins, it is important to use as much Seed SLIK™ . Blend seed flow as needed or recommended by the planter manufacturer.
Application
Clean-Up Instructions
Clean up material with soap and water. Talc will come off clothing, and skin using simple soap and water. Wipe up any spills on flooring to prevent slipping accidents.
Limitations
- Do not use any grease, oil, or other petroleum product on top of this coating, as it may deteriorate the effectiveness of the graphite.
- Keep away from electrical contacts and sensitive electrical equipment as the graphite powder may cause a short-circuiting effect.
- Keep away from light colored clothing and fabric.
Storage and Handling Information
- Material is packaged in plastic bottles/cans/tubes
- Store away from excessive heat that may melt the tubes
- Material is silver-grey though some color variations are normal.
- Keep away from light colored clothing
- Graphite powder is electrically conductive and may lead to electrical shorts and damage.
- Please be careful working with this product around electricity or sensitive electrical equipment.
